Artist Tony Sasso in his studio
“With no formal art training, my style blurs the lines between outsider and visionary, contemporary and folk, old and new. I work in assorted media, including acrylic, wood, metal, cloth, and items salvaged from places as varied as tidal pools and trash piles. Most pieces are in three dimensions, intended to be viewed from different angles and from a step back to nose-close. I seek to bring my life experience – as a merchant seafarer, labor activist, environmental advocate, surfer, and reforming politician – to my work. Although I have been producing art for 50 years, I have opened it to public view only in the past decade, fortunate to share it in Key West, New York City at Clio Art Fair, and Cocoa Beach."

Tony Sasso has showcased his work in the past Clio Art Fair 10th edition in March 5-8, 2020 and 14th edition in May 18-21, 2023. Here is our short interview with the artist and her review of her experience at Clio Art Fair!
Tony, can you please describe your art in four words?
Provocative, amusing, commentary, ambiguous.
What inspires your art?
Trying to make sense of life.
How would you describe your experience at Clio Art Fair?
Clio Art Fair was a rare opportunity to meet and admire the work of visionary artists. The staff of the show provided the highest level of support, and personal interaction with some of them has grown over the years. It was a privilege to receive feedback from the public and pure pleasure to exhibit at such a respected and dynamic show.
